Welcome to our wifi hotspot!

If you're reading this, it's highly likely that you're one of the first of our wifi users at Emerald Library!  And if you're not one of our wifi users, at least you know the option is now available.
 
Internet access is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in and around the Emerald Library.  Simply purchase internet time at the front counter, where you'll be given a unique access password. 

Rates are reasonable - just $2 for half an hour - and you can purchase as much time as you like, with a window of 48 hours to use your allotted time in.

Well, you're in safe hands!  Emerald Library has just revamped it's 'computer expert' section and we've got a whole heap of "...for dummies" books in now!  Anything you ever wanted to know about Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, AutoCAD, Excel, Dashcode, Joomla! (I'd just like to know what that is!) and many more are now available to loan.

We've also got a whole range of titles from the "Missing manual" series - ipads; iphones; Microsoft Office; Mac etc etc etc.

Come down to the library to check them out OR get online via our Online Catalogue in the sidebar thingy there and reserve them.  We'll send them out to your library of choice.

Free access to The Computer School

Check out this great new service we've added to CHRC Libraries!  This is a self-paced learning resource available to you 24/7 from the comfort of your own home, covering all the popular computer software programs plus the most frequented Social Networking sites. 

All you have to have is access to the internet and a Library Membership card.  Simply log in following the directions given from your local library and click on the icon of the software you want to learn about.

A list of lessons will appear on the right hand side and you can pick and choose which ones you want to complete.

It's the easiest, most effective way of learning at your own pace and in your own time!

If you're not real confident, come in and see the lovely ladies at your local library and ask for assistance.  We'll be happy to show you through it!
