It's been a harrowing time for the communities that have suffered flooding on the Central Highlands, just as it has been for others throughout Queensland. The devastation has been quite extensive and the long-term costs, financial and otherwise, will stay with us for quite some time.
If you were one of the unfortunate who suffered inundation and had library books in your home, please don't hesitate to notify your local library so we can collate a list and ensure we don't send you an Overdue Notice. We realise there will be losses and Council will write water-damaged items off when notified by borrowers.
If you've been through a tough time, make sure you look after yourself physically and mentally.
Take a break.
Come visit the library and enjoy the air conditioning, the peaceful atmosphere and perhaps a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
Flick through your favourite magazine.
Or bring some friends with you.
Make yourselves at home.
Have a chat.
We're not just about books. The library is a community hub; a meeting place. Please feel free to use it as such.
Our best wishes to everyone,
CHRC Library Staff
